New conference, same start for the Llamados?

With the 2011 PBA Commissioner's Cup about to start in a week, the preparation for the B-MEG Derby Ace Llamados has been the same, adjusting with their nagging injured players.

The Llamados were already hurt with their bad start last Philippine Cup, when they tried to defend their crown, due to numerous injuries to key big men Marc Pingris, Kerby Raymundo, and Rafi Reavis. Pingris eventually returned and contributed very well, as the Llamados fought hard in the playoffs, only to bow down to eventual champion Talk 'N Text during the semifinals in six games.

Right now, B-MEG is still hounded by injuries to their big men. Good news is in store for these players though. As Kerby Raymundo will return in the country come March 8. Reavis, on the other hand, went to US to get an opinion about his injury, and will be back by the 21st or 22nd of Feburary.

Pingris, though, suffered a cut on his eyes during their tune-up game against Rain or Shine, in which they won 102-101. He will join the practice today, but will wear a mask, as well as during their tune-up game against Air21.

With these developments, B-MEG may be hard pressed once again to start well in the COmmissioner's Cup. With only nine games in the eliminations, a good start is needed for all the teams. And B-MEG cannot afford to do the same thing last conference.
